Purpose of this blog

What is the purpose of this blog?

I have kept personal journals to practice my writing, but writing for web differs from writing in private journals. My private journal writing process involves fountain pens and journals with fancy paper. Here, I sit in front of an actual personal computer instead of on a table or smart phone.

This blog will encourage me to improve my writing skills for the web and to do it without the reliance on LLMs for assistance. I last regularly kept an updated blog in 2007 when many proclaimed Web 2.0 as the new hotness.

Micro-blogging and macro-blogging platforms have limitations in expressing ideas. A standard blog allows for better expression of ideas in a format appropriate for long posts.

In addition, I hope this blog forces me to slow down in this world of short posts and quick replies. The goal isn't to shun technology completely, but to embrace the technologies of an Internet that still exists, including having a personal site.
